“Sharp Objects” tells the story of reporter Camille Preaker, played by Adams, who returns to her hometown to cover the murder of two preteen girls following a stay in a psychiatric hospital.
“Dallas Buyers Club” director Jean-Marc Vallée will direct all eight episodes of the first season. Vallée and producing partner Nathan Ross are currently in production on HBO’s “Little Lies,” starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Laura Dern.
